A summer exhibition featuring crafts is a tradition at the Eckerö Post and Customs House.
On the upper floor, the Åland Handicrafts & Arts Association presents the exhibition “Saga” in which 24 Ålandic artisans display unique interpretations of fairy tales. Traditional craft techniques are used to create modern and thought-provoking works. See Little Red Riding Hood and Rapunzel among more abstract and personal fairy tale interpretations.
On the lower floor, the Post & Customs House presents an exhibition about the building’s history, the postal route, and the customs service, along with lithographs of Bomarsund from the Ålandsbanken collection. Seven artisans interpret Bomarsund using various materials and craft techniques to mark 170 years since the fall of the fortress.
